SMCEDU-GU Discussion with Alex Rampy On Thursday, April 22nd Hilltop had the pleasure of hosting Alex Rampy as part of our ongoing SMCEDU-GU efforts to bring in speakers and cultivate discussion about new and innovative ways to use social media. Alex is a social media marketing professional at IQ Solutions here in DC, as well as the author of the blog SocialButterfly.
Alex first made sure to explain the difference between social marketing and social media marketing, giving us a brief overview of what our clients might be looking for in each. She then took the time to individually address some of challenges facing the project teams, such as convincing clients to buy into the concept of social media or deciding what level of formality was appropriate for a client's Twitter. Alex's social media expertise and her experience working with nonprofits made a perfect combination for this discussion and we hope to be able to have her visit again soon. |

Hilltop Helps Clean Up Georgetown Neighborhood Community service is an important part of Hilltop Consultant's mission and role as an organization. Although we pride ourselves on the strategic consulting we provide our non-profit clients, we also like to get out and put in some hours doing hands-on volunteering in the community. This Saturday, our members woke up bright and early to join other volunteers from GU's Office of Off-Campus Student Life (a spring 2009 Hilltop client) and the Citizens Association of Georgetown for a neighborhood cleanup. Armed with gloves, rakes, shovels and other implements of destruction we cleaned up the streets and sidewalks ranging from Q street all the way down to Prospect. A great time was had by all and we hope to work with CAG more in the future! |

Business Strategy Challenge Successfully Completed Hilltop Consultant\\\'s BSC team wrapped up their sixth annual consulting case competition on Saturday, February 27th led by Vanessa Lee (MSB\\\'11), Director of the Case Competition. The Challenge was co-hosted by Georgetown University\\\'s McDonough School of Business and sponsored by KPMG.
This year\\\'s client was the AARP\\\'s LifeTuner.org, a financial planning site targeting the 24-35 year old market. LifeTuner.org asked the competing teams to find the most effective college marketing strategy in order to best capture the attention of that audience.
Hilltop Consultants welcomed teams from all around the country and as far away as Adelaide, Australia to our campus and the new Hariri Business School Building. First place went to New York University, second place to Northeastern University and McGill University captured third.
Visit our BSC website and check out some pictures from the awards dinner.
