Rosemount Center Beautification Day
Over a dozen members of Hilltop Consultants participated in a Beautification Day at the Rosemount Center in Washington D.C. on November 22nd, 2008. The center is a bilingual Spanish/English Head Start and Early Head Start preschool center located in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Washington D.C. They serve more than 300 children and families each year. Participants raked leaves and planted flower bulbs throughout the center's grounds. These bulbs will bloom into a variety of flowers in the spring and line many of the center's walkways and main entrance. The day also consisted of a Thanksgiving food drive in which volunteers distributed turkeys and canned foods to children's families. |

Application Process Fall 2008 - Due Thursday Sept 11th at 5 pm We are now officially taking applications for our fall semester consulting project teams. At the bottom of this message, you can download the official application.
Here are some important points about applying:
1.) Applications are due on Thursday September 11th at 5 pm
2.) Please email the applications to application@hilltopconsultants.org
3.) Please include a resume, it is not required but it is very strongly recommended
4.) If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified on Friday (so please check your emails)
5.) Interviews will be part behavioral and part case-style on Saturday September 13th and Sunday September 14th (Times TBD)
6.) If you are selected for one of the teams you will be notified on Sunday night
7.) Do not be afraid to apply for a team leader position, we will evaluate you for both positions
I hope that all of you will apply, and do not be intimidated by the process. We will walk you through the case style interview since we understand that you have not formally prepared for these kinds of interviews. Additionally, we take all different schools and years, and look for a diverse group of students who can best serve our clients.

Recap from the 1st General Membership Meeting Hi all,
Thanks for showing up to the 1st General Membership meeting. We had a great amount of interested people show up for the event.
For those of you who could not make it below is the link to the powerpoint that was presented.
The most important information was for applications. They will be due on Thursday September 11th at 5 pm and they should be emailed to application@hilltopconsultants.org. We will post the final application for consulting teams on Sunday September 7th.
There will also be a second general membership meeting on Tuesday September 9th at 9 pm in WGR 201B. Please tell your friends to come if they are interested.

End of Semester Update/Newsletter Hilltop Consultants recently concluded a very successful year.
Over the past year, Hilltop has developed new partnerships with professors, consulting firms, and administrators. Our organization formalized many internal procedures with a new interviewing process and promotional structure.
The Business Strategy Challenge grew in prestige and achieved an increasingly dynamic environment for the participating schools. |

Hilltop Consultants Year-End Reception On Monday, Hilltop Consultants held their Annual Year-end Hilltop Consultants Reception. This celebration offered a chance for all of the past, current and future non-profit clients to be thanked for their hard work and dedication to Hilltop's efforts. There was also an opportunity to thank all of our Business Strategy Challenge sponsors, professors (who trained our students), and consulting firms (who also ran training sessions).
The festivities included thanking all of our team members and team leaders who have dedicated hundreds of hours over the semester to offering high-quality solutions to our non-profit clients.
Two awards were given out by the executive committee during the ceremony.
1. The Best Consultants Team was awarded to the Hoya Newspaper Team comprised of Team Leader, Sadia Sindhu and Team Members, Bachar Mahmoud, Lambert Wang, Harris Neifield, Drew Oppenheimer, and Sunny Hwang.
2. The Best Individual Consultant was granted to Bachar Mahmoud for his hard work on the Hoya Newspaper Team. |

Application for BSC Planning Committee Dear Hilltop Member,
I am happy to announce that the 2009 Business Strategy Challenge application is now posted on both the Hilltop Consultants website as well as the Challenge's website. This is the application to be part of Hilltop Consultants' BSC planning team. The team is responsible for planning the entire competition, from securing funding and a client to working with the teams and judges. This is a year-long commitment, as the event will be held Feb. 26-28th. If you are interested in being part of the team, please fill out the attached application, or get it off of our website, and e-mail it to application@hilltopconsultants.org by Wednesday, September 17th at 5:00pm. Further details will be provided to those who submit an application. I look forward to working with many of you.

Welcome back Hilltop Consultants (First General Membership Meeting Wednesday September 3rd, 2008 at 9 pm in ICC 115) I want to welcome you back to another exciting year at Georgetown and for Hilltop Consultants!
For those of you who are new, Hilltop Consultants is a student-run consulting group for undergraduate students at Georgetown. Since the fall of 2004, we have put together teams of students who provide consulting services to non-profit organizations in the D.C. area. We have served 22 clients over the past 4 years. In addition, we host workshops and information sessions with recruiters from consulting firms for internships and careers.
Below is some important information regarding the first few weeks of the semester as well as some updates about important developments:
First General Membership Meeting: Hilltop Consultants will hold its first general information session on Wednesday September 3rd, at 9 pm in ICC 115. This meeting is for current members and for those wishing to join. Being a member of Hilltop Consultants is a fantastic way to build real-world experience for your resume and find a job in consulting. We will discuss the application process for our fall consulting projects, how to become a part of the Business Strategy Challenge Planning Committee, and give an overview of the club's plans for the semester.
Brand New Hilltop Consultants Website: During the summer we unveiled our brand new website. Thanks to the Students Activities Commission and the Center for Student Programs, we were able to revamp the look and feel of our website as well as add superior functionality to update the site. This improved capability will help us communicate with our members and potential clients more effectively. I encourage you to check out the new website at www.hilltopconsultants.org
New Business Strategy Challenge Website: Our new website for the Business Strategy Challenge 2009 has just gone live. Please check out the new site at http://challenge.msb.edu for updates about the competition. The 2009 Business Strategy Challenge will take place February 26-28, 2009 at Georgetown University.
I hope to see all of you at the general membership meeting on this Wednesday so you can learn more about how to join a consulting team, the BSC Planning Committee, or become more active in the organization. |
