Client Spotlight: United Way Worldwide

United Way Worldwide focuses on three main goals: education, financial stability, and health. Recently, it has begun a campaign to move away from top-down funding to truly engaging the community and local leaders to create lasting, meaningful change. The United Way's Innovation Network was a group of 10 affiliates throughout the United States who embodied this concept; it was a network that lasted for a year and gave rise to a new "toolkit" that is meant to inspire other affiliates to pursue the same approach of community engagement. The responsibility of Hilltop Consultants is to help create a strategy to internally market the concept and toolkit of community engagement to other United Ways affiliates so that they will be inspired to follow this new approach.

Hilltop Consultants provided recommendations regarding the structure and layout of the toolkit, the development of a short-term strategy to market community engagement through various at-conference, online, and word-of-mouth channels; as well as long-term structural changes to United Way's social media and internal websites.
